Being a parent of a Teen and/or Young Adult is the most rewarding and trying experience one can have! At times it can be overwhelming. None of us need to do it alone. Here in the Hot Topics section of Wake Teen’s website, parents and adults working with teens can be assured of finding accurate and honest information about the health, well being, and day-to-day issues involved with teens. Our Wake Teen expert staff; including pediatricians, psychiatrists, nutritionists, nutritionists, health educators, counselors, youth advocates and health care professionals will post articles based on current issues, as well as questions and answers posted on the Blog. Please read through it and look over our listing of local and on-line resources for parenting-related issues. We hope you find it useful! If the information you seek isn’t here, email us or post a question on our blog. We will do our best to help you locate it. We are always interested in innovative or new information, so if you find something that you think might be worth posting, let us know!

A Wake Teen group of medical experts reviews all blog content regularly to ensure the information is as current and accurate as possible. This shouldn’t take the place of an in-person visit for your teen with a doctor. Having a personal consultation with a physician who can get his/her health history, do a physical exam, and talk with you both one-on-one is very important to keep your teen’s body and mind healthy!
